Dr. Kerri Ward
Dr. Kerri Ward moved to the Ft. Pierce area as a young girl in 1986. She attended school in St. Lucie County and graduated from Ft. Pierce Central High School in 1991. She knew that she wanted to go into the health care profession, so being that her father worked at Walgreens, she originally chose to become a Pharmacist. She was accepted and attended Mercer School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA after attending Florida State University for undergraduate studies.
During her education at Mercer University, she discovered that the medical profession's only way to deal with 'Health Care' was really 'Sick Care' . Instead of looking for the cause of disease, their solution was to offer more drugs and surgery instead of teaching people about prevention and lifestyle choices. She was taught in pharmacy school that the cost of correcting adverse drug reactions of medications prescribed correctly by doctors, cost more than the original condition being treated, which was BILLIONS of dollars a year. It just did not make sense. Talk about a health care crisis! She also learned that America at the time was ranked 28th in the world for our health. There were 27 healthier countries in the world. We have now gotten worse and are at 37th. Better health through better chemistry is obviously not working out that well.
A friend was attending Life University School of Chiropractic in Atlanta during the same time. Dr. Kerri began to go to see her at the student clinic as a chiropractic patient. While under going care, headaches which had plagued Dr. Kerri frequently started to lessen. She also started to learn about the Chiropractic Lifestyle, which believes that our bodies are self healing and self regulating if given the chance. Chiropractors have focused on natural healing, prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices such as nutrition, positive mental attitude, a healthy nervous system, and excercise for over 105 years. That made more sense than taking drugs for the rest of your life for lifestyle diseases such as heart disease, headaches, high blood pressure, back pain, arthritis, high cholesterol, and type II diabetes to name a few. So Dr. Kerri enrolled the next semester into Chiropractic College. She graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1999.
Dr. Kerri worked with some of her chiropractic mentors after graduating in 1999. She moved back to Florida in 2001. She opened her own practice in Ft. Pierce, FL in 2005, then moved that practice to St Lucie West in 2013. She is happily married and has two daughters.
